Janelle Monae – Lettin’ Go
Erykah gives everything she has, and is killed for it in the end.
Any time I can put a record away, then pick it up months later and still feel it like I did the first time, it’s safe to say I’m a fan of the artist.
Such is the case with Janelle Monae. While I’m still reserving judgement to see if she can take this act to the next level, I’m really impressed with her dedication to pulling it off visually. She’s got a tremendous voice, and lots of energy, which is killing people in live shows across the country. Folks have been saying “she’s the next thing” since about 2006, and the buzz is just about at the boiling point.
This is a video for “Many Moons”, which I like a lot.
