Japanese pop artist Namie Amuro stopped aging like 11 years ago. That’s the only explanation I have for why she’s able to still make tracks like this work.

I’m a big fan of her new logo. that’s probably what I like about this video, maybe more than the track itself.

I was JUST PLAYING this on the drive in!! LOVE this mix.

I’m pretty sure he means 2NE1.  And by now he’s gotta  know that the groups are OK. but this illustrates how connected this business is.

I’ve been talking about K-Pop super girl group “Brown Eyed Girls” since early 2009, and the Japanese promotions are well under way. This week their popular song “Sign” is released, and here is the music video for it.

It will be interesting to see how the girls are received. This is probably one of their strongest songs, and one of the best suited for a Japanese cross-over. If you’ve been following this, you’ll recall that the girls became known for their risque music videos, having to re-edit a couple completely as they couldn’t be aired in Korea. Japan’s a hard market to crack – let’s hope the girls are up for the challenge!

Tomiko and Ryo of DAI

My love of DAI is well documented. I have traveled far to see them perform live, and have everything they’ve ever recorded.  And while that  doesn’t  say much  for someone who  obsessively  collects lots of music,  I have a personal  love for this band in particular. DAI’s “Deep Forest” album was the soundtrack to a really good time in my life, something I can’t say about too many bands. I was SO happy to hear that they’d gotten back together (or, did they just  go on hiatus?) and so far their music has matured in a direction that I’m still with.

This is a PV for “Hand In Hand”, from their upcoming album “Eight”,  which  will  be avaialble on the 19th.

And here’s Avex’s promo for the album, which  features clips of videos and an overview of the singles.
